Parrot Linux for Raspberry Pi is a set of native images for 64-bit Raspberry Pi boards. The Raspberry Pi images use the MATE desktop, share the same repositories as the x86-64 editions and are refreshed with the point releases; 7.4 fixed dependency and SSH-key problems in the Pi images and added new arm64 ISOs.
Supported boards
- Raspberry Pi 5: supported since the 6.0 and 6.1 releases.
- Raspberry Pi 4 and 400: supported; 6.1 improved Wi-Fi on the Pi 400.
- Raspberry Pi 3B: needs the minimal Core edition, because the other editions require at least 2 GB of RAM.
- Other ARM boards: 7.4 announced beta support for the Orange Pi 5 Ultra. See Raspberry Pi and other builds.
How to install Parrot Linux for Raspberry Pi
- Get the Raspberry Pi image from the official download page (linked from the download guide) and verify its hash (guide).
- Write it to a microSD card or USB SSD with Raspberry Pi Imager, Etcher or
dd. - Boot, change the default password and run
sudo parrot-upgrade.
Tips
- A USB 3 SSD on a Pi 4 or Pi 5 is much faster than a microSD card.
- Monitor mode and packet injection still need a supported USB Wi-Fi adapter; see supported chipsets.
- GPU password cracking is not practical on a Pi; keep Hashcat jobs on x86-64 hardware.
