About parrotlinux.org

parrotlinux.org is an independent website about the Parrot operating system. It publishes documentation, how-to guides, release summaries and comparisons for people who use, or want to try, the Parrot security and privacy Linux distribution.

What this site is

  • A reference and learning resource: installation guides, troubleshooting, tool usage and release notes written for users.
  • Free to read, with no account required.

What this site is not

  • It is not the official website of the Parrot project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the Parrot Security project, Hack The Box or any other organisation mentioned in the content.
  • It does not develop, build or sign Parrot releases, and it does not host ISO images. Downloads come from the official project; the download guide explains where to get them and how to verify them.
  • It does not collect donations, sell merchandise or advertise jobs on behalf of the project.
  • It does not provide official support. For bugs in the operating system, use the project’s own issue tracker and community channels (see where to get help).

Content and accuracy

Release notes and edition pages are updated when a new Parrot version ships. Older guides may describe earlier releases, so check the release notes and the official announcements before upgrading a system you depend on.

Trademarks

Parrot OS, Parrot Security, Kali Linux, Debian, Hack The Box and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used here only to identify the software being discussed.
